What Is the Unforgivable Sin?

What is the unforgivable sin in the Bible? Jesus warned the Pharisees of this danger when they challenged his authority after exorcising a demon. How does this blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, as Jesus calls it, relate to the apostasy related to us in Hebrews 6, and the “sin unto death” in 1 John 5? In today’s Seven Minute Seminary video, Dr. Ben Witherington compares and contrasts these three points of dire warning from Scripture.

    1. The text uses the words speak against this means the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is an intentional verbal attack. Not something you said to test the blasphemy to see if God will kick you out,( this what I did) something you said in anger in a emotional moment, but a rejection of the Holy Spirit to which you attack him trying to make the spirit evil. Believe me I’ve dealt with it for 23 years. Figuring out what you did do helps you see why you haven’t. And then if you are worried about it still, you didn’t.
