JD-Amen-I performed a wedding for an older couple last week-it was a simple service with family and Christian friends present-they met one another in the church I am serving as supply pastor for Sunday worship-they handed me a thank you card that had 3 $100 bills inside -I am very blessed financially so I am praying to be led to give those bills to a person in need -thank you for your encouragement! I look forward to your sharing every day! Blessings!
To know about Jesus is to know some theology. To know Jesus is to know and to experience the reality of the presence and love of God. The better you know Jesus, the more God’s love overflows from deep within you.
True love doesn’t come from learning facts about Jesus. It comes from flaming faith in and total reliance on His ongoing presence and powerful working in and through your daily life.
Learn to know Jesus. It’s not enough to only know about Him. To know Jesus as your Lord and Friend is to realize that He created the heavens and the earth. (John 1:1-3 & 14) Freedom from emotional pain can’t be found in alcohol, drugs, pornography, sex, gambling, or other forms of self-focus. It’s found in full surrender and obedience to the risen Jesus Christ.
With the exception of those that adore the art or the style of an object, I don’t think anyone actually loves money. I don’t think today is writing even mentions that but I thought it would be important to note
Since we use money in order to facilitate transactions for those things that we need, it makes sense that giving someone money can be an ac of love.
If anyone out there have some money to give, I’m deeply in debt I’m going through a divorce. And my wife is completely careless about how it has financially destroyed both of us. I would prefer a really good work.
How about instead of “self-giving generosity” We could perhaps say, “self-sacrificing, God-oriented generosity”? Reference the kenosis of Philippians 2:5-11.
Oh, J.D. We had a wonderful time visiting with the people of your church! However, the $250 is truly a mystery. It didn’t come from us! But what a blessing!

When you know you belong
You truly get along.
Let Jesus make you strong
And forgive all your wrong
So He can sing His song
Within you and through you.
Sweet poem. Thank you.

I’m sorry to hear this Jeff. And I understand.

Maybe “self-less” generosity.
Thank you for the music link. I “LOVE” that worship song & that version was Spirit filled.
A great blessing for my day.
Thank You! I did check out the Mother’s Day sermon…it was great!
4th verse: All praise to the Father, from whom all things come,
And all praise to Christ Jesus, His only Son
And all praise to the Spirit, that makes us one.
And they’ll know we are Christians by our love.
