WHAT IS THIS?Wake-Up Call is a daily encouragement to shake off the slumber of our busy lives and turn our eyes toward Jesus. Each morning our community gathers around a Scripture, a reflection, a prayer, and a few short questions, inviting us to reorient our lives around the love of Jesus that transforms our hearts, homes, churches, and cities.

Praying for those sweet little kids to accept the love of Jesus. Thank you, JD. Beautiful word and duet!
O Father God, I am so unaware of false teaching.
Give me eyes to see and let me see right side up!
Give me ears to hear, understand, and discern.
Give me wisdom to respond and courage to do so.
Let love cover all and You be glorified.
In Jesus‘s name, I pray, amen.
My husband and I listen to you every morning. We are members of the First Methodist Church in Clarion, Iowa. What a joy it is each morning to listen and learn about our glorious Savior and to join you in singing all of these wonderful hymns. You are right when you said there are a treasure trove of wonderful old hymns. They remind me of my childhood and playing hymns on the piano for my grandma. Blessings and prayers for your Bible School this week. Thank you again for “ waking these old sleepers” up every morning with the Word of God!
I would add that the holy scriptures cannot be untethered from the one holy, catholic, apostolic Church. The canon and the interpretation of it were given to us by the holy fathers, but we lost so much understanding with the splintering of the Church.
Thank you for these teachings of Truth. You and your team have been a great encouragement to me in this season as well as iron sharpening iron. To God be the glory. I pray His will be done in your ministry on earth as it is in heaven. ❤️
I was raised up mostly in the Lutheran Church Missouri synod. And a little bit in the Baptist Church.
In the Lutheran Church there isn’t a lot of holy Spirit telling people things. In the Baptist Church there is a little bit.
As I said before people seem to think that the holy Spirit is a little voice that tells you what to do. I don’t think so. I think that it becomes used as a signature on someone’s blank check of an idea.
This was most evident when I spent about a year in the Pentecostal Church. nearly everything they did was about the holy Spirit telling him to speak some gibberish or tell everyone that we need to put more money in the pail for the latest Church upgrade.
Another thing I’ve experienced the way of using either the holy Spirit or some particular obedience action in order to unlock God’s provision.
Like if you I have financial issues the problem is not typing the right way. As if financial success is based on tithing the right way.
Or like if you aren’t seeing a breakthrough in the depressing situation you’re in it’s because you’re not praying the right way or enough.
Or if you aren’t full of joy it’s because you’re not seeing the hymns enough.
As if tithing or singing or praying is the magic dime that goes in the god vending machine to get out a dollar.
Hi, my name is Dennis Matson and I am a retired school teacher and have taught Junior church and adult Bible study classes for about 50 years. We still continue to try to get VBS materials from the United Methodist Church stores and it would be great to start up a global Methodist VBS theology program. If there’s any way of sending me your VBS program after you use it this year that would be great. Love listening to your morning wake up call and it has made a great impact on me and many others that I share clips with each week. Take care, love you guys, Denny.
I shared your $100 bill story with Gary Hoag today and he mentioned that he loves your work and your age 😉 since he is the same as you. My sign off with him is “with you” and he mentioned that yours with him is 67. Love the work he is doing around the world.
Praying for you, LB, your church & community. Hope to hear more about this curriculum. May seeds be sown & hearts be awakened to the truth of God’s word. Reminds me of the old VBS song from my childhood “The B-I-B-L-E.. yes that’s the book for me … I stand alone on the word of God the B-I-B-L-E..” (those childhood seeds sown in my life took root and reminded me throughout my life where to seek truth!)
Oh what a blessing to hear your precious dad singing with you today.

Thank you for calling us back!

So happy to hear your “singing partner” with you this morning!
Praying for the word to reach these precious children of Gilett and for their teachers and parents.
Love love hearing you and your dad sing. Warms my heart!❤️
BVS Kid’s are in for a real treat.
