Ulrich Zwingli (1484 – 1531 AD) was a leader of the Reformation in Switzerland. He was a pastor who worked against ecclesial corruption and whose confessions, liturgy, and church orders live on in the Reformed churches of today. Convinced of the need for just wars, he lived consistently and fought in a battle with Roman Catholic troops, where he died on the frontlines in 1531.
