Where Is Jesus in the Old Testament?

Where is Jesus in the Old Testament? As the ultimate author of both Old and New Testaments, the Holy Spirit inspired the Bible to serve as one big story, pointing to and finding fulfillment in the person of Jesus. After his resurrection, Jesus showed his disciples on the road to Emmaus how to read the Scriptures in light of him (Luke 24:13-35). What we discover when looking for Jesus in the Old Testament is that he is there in patterns, prophecies, and promises that anticipate his redemptive work.
