From Playing Dominoes to the Domino Effect
We don’t want to look back at the end of our days and realize we were just playing dominos.
The kind of change most needed cannot even be effected by laws. It must happen in the hearts and minds of masters and slaves.
The Kingdom comes in response to radical surrender to Jesus “in heaven,” which is manifest through radical submission to each other “on Earth.”
“Whatever you do” knows no limitation. It is totalizing and comprehensive. Paul instructs we are to never leave character. And the character is Jesus Christ.
The Peace of Christ is the Peace of the Cross, a place of unbridled chaos and unutterable pain intersected with the complete reverse of resurrection.
Compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience create the conditions where the Holy Spirit heals wounded people, mends broken relationships and reverses intractable situations.
Our old selves must be taken off, deconstructed, crucified, dead, and buried. This only happens when we dare to believe the gloriously beautiful truth about ourselves.
