“It’s as if scales fell from my eyes, and I could see the Holy Spirit with me in a brand new way.”

Sarah, a pastor from central Illinois, experienced what she calls her “Holy Spirit awakening” while attending the New Room Conference.

Sarah had always believed in the Holy Spirit but felt this noticeable disconnect in her relationship with Him. Like “He was out there, somewhere” and she could only access Him if she “prayed enough or asked the right way.” Then, maybe she thought, the Holy Spirit might give her a little power or inspiration. But she always left feeling empty.

Then, she began to hear at the New Room Conference that the Spirit is readily available to her. That He’s already at work and all she needs to do is receive Him. To believe and accept His active role in her everyday life.

Sarah realized that she could participate in what the Holy Spirit was already doing. That she could enter into His presence, go where He led, receive what He had to offer, and not have to wait for that day to come. Instead, she could enter into it, right there and right then.

And at that moment Sarah remarked, “It’s as if scales fell from my eyes, and I could see the Holy Spirit with me in a brand new way.”
