One in four adults in the United States will develop a behavioral health disorder in his or her lifetime. Some of these adults will be admitted to psychiatric hospitals. Appropriate follow-up care after discharge from a psychiatric hospitalization is vital to their care. A team approach will include psychiatrists, psychologists and counselors.

“Treating Clients After Hospitalization: Understanding Serious Mental Illness and Recovery,” a 6 hour CEU training event, will help to educate the after care team to best support those with serious mental illness. Asbury Seminary, in cooperation with Asbury University, will offer this event on Friday September 18, 2015 from 8:30 AM to 4:15 PM at Asbury Seminary in Wilmore, KY.

The morning program presenter will be David Susman, PhD. and Licensed Psychologist. He is the Psychological Services Director and Recovery Mall Director at Eastern State Hospital in Kentucky.

The afternoon presenter will be Anna Duncan, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Licensed Psychological Practitioner. Ms. Duncan is an outpatient counselor at Bluegrass.org where she provides short and long-term psychological diagnostic and therapeutic services for individuals, couples, and families.
