What Christian Politics Should Look Like

If it were a possibility at all, what would Christian, or Christ-like, politics look like? In today’s Seven Minute Seminary, Dr. Stephen Backhouse uses the hymn found in Philippians 2 to cast a vision for how Christian leaders and politicians should aspire to office and use their influence. The model set by the life of Jesus stands in stark contrast to the ways of ancient rulers, especially Roman emperors.

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God,

    did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
rather, he made himself nothing
    by taking the very nature of a servant,
    being made in human likeness.
Philippians 2:5-7 (NIV)
