New Online Resource, Hope Changes

In an effort to connect people in the midst of emotional struggles to the hope found in God’s Word and to help them know they are not alone, Northland Church and the American Bible Society, have teamed up to provide a new online resource.

Hope Changes, their recently launched website, combines the power of truth and a focus on God’s nature with dynamic, personal stories. On each of eight topic pages addressing addiction, anger, depression, disappointment, doubt, fear, grief and guilt, end-users can uncover insights about their own condition and receive help to look beyond their present circumstances to the hope that is there.

Exit pages designed for each topic give users further options to find a local counselor, gain further insight through a series of pastoral counselor video clips, find additional printed and online resources, join a live worship service online and more. The site is equally useful to those dealing […]

On a recent trip to Memphis, I was inspired by the network of organizations that have arisen from the ministry of a particular church in that city. The leaders spoke about justice and the gospel in a way that was sophisticated in understanding, yet simple and passionate in language. I believe in justice as a core facet of the gospel, but I left that trip energized to strengthen my own foundation and dream new ways to lead my own congregation in reaching our community with God’s ministry of justice.

Yet while both this young generation and many of our not-so-young church members resonate with practical compassion offered to those in need, there is a challenge. Most Christians joyfully participate in clothing and food drives, funds for […]

Brothers, Tim and Aaron Perry, authored a helpful text, He Ascended into Heaven: Learning to live an Ascension shaped life. Seedbed caught up with Aaron recently to discuss the book. The short interview follows.

SB:   Why does the Ascension matter? Theologically? Practically?

AP:   People, made in God’s image, were to reflect God in their reign over the earth.  The Ascension is the event that restores the only faithful human, Jesus of Nazareth, to that position of leadership.  The Ascension also flows into the giving of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost; the same Spirit who draws people into the reign of Jesus and enables them to […]
